Wheeling with new wheels
It is disheartening how much advantage some people with disabilites allow just for the attention of another; it is worse to watch it happen. The person may excuse the behavior for any number of reasons but no one should get themselves in such a situation. Attendant care is meant for that reason not relationships.
While it is understandable it can qickly spiral out of control into a hurtful experience in which the person takes serious financial advantage and believes they deserve what they take. I have a friend who has that experience and I have allowed some of that to happen with myself. The longer it continues the harder it is to end.
