Workout and weight loss on wheels- Amputee and yoga
It teaches different breathing techniques useful for dealing with pain; mainly focusing. It teaches that parts of the body are addressed not the body as one entity. I teaches ways to exercise joints and keep them healthy and how to avoid further damage and the need for knee replacement. It also reaches shifting your weight on both legs; balance is important for amputees cince the side the limb is on (for leg amputtees) is lighter. Avoiding putting weight on the right leg causes limping and throwing the body out of alignment. Yoga also exercises the mind and soul. As an amputee spiritual and mental exercise are important also; it is easy to fall into “poor me mode." After yoga falling asleep is easier cause you lear to relax.
